I am an ecologically obsessed garden designer. I am the sole proprietor of Artisan Outdoors, a native plant landscaping firm based in Asheville, NC. Helping folks build beautiful gardens for birds and butterflies, while celebrating their place on the planet using an evolution-tested plant palette.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Design, am a LEED Accredited Professional, and have worked for over twenty years in the environmental world. From local government in my early days, to landscaping and nursery gigs, in public and private gardens, with scientists and conservation non-profits, I have been absorbing wisdom and honing skills to educate and advocate for a more balanced relationship with nature. Although I'm still obsessed with learning more about nature-based solutions, low impact development, and evolution driven interactions, I'm feeling like I've found where I can make a difference and leave the world a better place.

My passion is creating stunning landscapes and gardens with native plants. Educating about the current biodiversity crisis, the delicate and fascinating interactions among soil, plants, and animals,  advocating for a re-evaluation of the social norms, challenging folks to see beauty in a different way. Bridging the gap between traditional gardening methods (do we really need all that lawn?) and more resilient, sustainable, ecologically focused native plant gardens that are better equipped to thrive moving forward.
